Atlantic Region Director Elections

Brothers and Sisters,

I am pleased to announce that Anthony Dellaporta has been elected, by acclimation, to the position of Atlantic Region Director and Executive Board member.

As you are aware, following the appointment of Serge Delongchamps as Vice President, nominations were held to fill the vacancy of Atlantic Region Director. These nominations were closed on November 15th with Brother Dellaporta being the sole nominee, though he was nominated and seconded a number of times by various members.

Congratulations Brother Dellaporta, for your election and for the faith and confidence that your membership has shown in you, and know that the TCRC MWED Executive Board and as well as myself personally,are honoured to welcome you onto the Board and are extremely pleased with the Atlantic Region's choice. We feel that you are a man of integrity, intelligence and honour and look forward to your participation and assistance in the affairs of the Brotherhood and in the representation of its members.

Brother Dellaporta is fully bi lingual and has served the membership as a local chairman and joint protective board member (of the former CSF) for many years and was also elected as a TCRC MWED convention delegate. Anthony was an integral member of the bargaining committee of 2004/ 05 and is also a trustee with the LTD trust fund.

Following a unanimously adopted motion by the Executive board yesterday, Brother Dellaporta's term will commence on January 1, 2007, though he will be in attendance at the next face-to-face Executive Board meeting on December 8th, 2006.
