Teamsters Care - December 2006

December 3, 2006

Brothers and Sisters,

As Christmas approaches, it is once again time for the "Teamsters Care" toy drive. Last year, across the country, thousands of dollars in donations and toys were raised for kids that would be spending their Christmas in the hospital, so let's do it again.

What you do, is set up a drop off box or station at your workplace and encourage everyone to bring in at least one unwrapped toy. Then on December 21st or 22nd, 2006, before you start the holiday weekend, deliver the toys to the hospital in your area. Don't worry about wrapping them or handing them out, the hospital staff will be more than happy to do that.

Christmas is a time of giving and for every kid that I know it is, more importantly, a time for receiving. Hopefully all of us will be at home with our families on the 25th, but there will be tens of thousands of children who won't be. Let's do what we can to make their Christmas a little better.

If you would rather send your gift to us in Ottawa to deliver, get it to:

TCRC MWED
2775 Lancaster Road
Ottawa, ON
K1B 4V8

We'll be delivering our gifts on the 22nd, so try and have it to us before then. If you want to send a donation, make the cheque out to " TCRC MWED " and send it to the address above (be sure to note that it is for "TEAMSTERS CARE").

Myself, Lise, Serge or Louis will be using the donation monies to buy toys on the 21st, so again, try to have it to us before then.

Last year, TCRC MWED members were involved in the Christmas charity drive, from coast to coast. From London to Lethbridge, from Marystown to Nanaimo, from Edmonton to Revelstoke to Schreiber to Winnipeg. Toronto, Montreal, Thunder Bay, Regina, Calgary, Cranbrook and many more areas participated with donations, toy and food bank drives and many other volunteer activities. It is a wonderful feeling to help out others and everyone, no matter who you are, feels better giving a gift to a child.

Merry Christmas to all of you and let's all do our part to make it a Merrier Christmas for thousands of others. Let's do it because " TEAMSTERS CARE".

Fraternally,

Bill Brehl
President
