Ceremony for the Newly elected TCRC - MWED Executive Board

On Monday August the 8th, 2005, the newly elected Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Maintenance of Way Employees Division Executive Board was sworn into office.

The ceremony was held in Ottawa at our Division Headquarters and was attended by family and friends.

Teamsters Canada President Robert Bouvier officiated and everything proceeded perfectly. After the ceremony, we presented President Bouvier , Assistant to the President Laporte and National Advisor Deptuck with engraved clocks as tokens of our appreciation for all they have done on behalf of our membership and our Division.

It was a solemn occasion and a landmark in the history of our Brotherhood. For the first time ever, we have an Executive Board, directly elected by the rank and file membership. One member/ one vote. And we are all extremely grateful that you have put your trust and your faith in us and we swear to uphold that trust to the best of our abilities for the entirety of our terms.

There was also great joy and camraderie as we are not just colleagues we are all very close friends and are very proud of each other as can be readily seen in the attached pictures. Our work and our duty keeps us on the move and often separated from our families and each other, so it was definitely a day for celebration seeing as we were finally all togehter, albeit only for a couple of days.
