Transportation Safety Board - Daily Notification Log

October 24th, 2006

Brothers and Sisters,

Attached for your information is a copy of the notification log from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada's reported railway accident/ incidents.

I will not be sending these out every time, though we will be going through them by committee. I thought that you might like to look at what really must be reported. We believe that this is a lot more accurate than the FRA reportable stats that are presented to us by the company.

We also believe that if we want to really be the safest railway in Canada, then we have to face the most accurate stats and correct any and all failings. It benefits no one to put a spin on reality.

Its interesting to note that CPR had 20 occurrences compared to 11 at CN.

Stay safe out there,

Fraternally,

Bill Brehl
President
TCRC MWED
