Letter of Delegate Election Results

April 11, 2006

Brothers and Sisters,

Yesterday we counted the ballots for the election of delegates to the IBT Convention in June. There were 654 ballots received with 10 spoiled, leaving a total of 644 counted.

The 4 delegates elected will be as follows:

  1. Bill Brehl with 455 votes.
  2. Gary Doherty with 351 votes.
  3. John Kruk with 272 votes.
  4. Bill Brake with 264 votes.

The alternates, by acclimation, are Bill Poirier and Gary Prisque.

This was the first time that we have ever elected our delegates to an International Convention by rank and file mail out vote and I want to thank everyone who participated and to congratulate the elected delegates. You will carry a very important responsibility to represent our Division and I am sure that you will do so in an exemplary fashion.

This truly is a show of democracy in action, a definite step in the right direction and it was an honour and a privilege to serve on the Election Committee.  Thank you once again.

In solidarity,

Serge Delongchamp
Chairman
TCRC MWED IBT Convention Delegate Election Committee
