Thanksgiving
update
Brothers and Sisters,
October 10th is Thanksgiving day and it is a time to stop and reflect
on all that we have to be grateful for. I'd like to share a few
thoughts with you, if I may.
Tomorrow I will sit down to have turkey with my family and I will
be thankful.
I will be thankful that we are able to gather around the table
together and share this all too brief time together.
I will be thankful that God has blessed me with a partner and soul
mate who accepts me for who I am and loves me in spite of that.
I will be thankful that my children are happy and that they are
healthy, when so many are not.
I will be thankful for the work that I am privileged enough to
do, for it is work that is never a burden and always an honour
and I believe tnat each man is defined by what they accomplish
in life.
I will be thankful for the Friends and Brothers and Sisters that
share my life and my work, my joy and my sorrow, my victories and
the tragedies that befall me. For without them the good times would
be empty and the hard times would be unbearable.
I will be thankful for each little moment, each second, each breath
and each vignette that make up the tapestry and the mystery and
the wonder of life.
I will be thankful that after the years of civil war and internal
struggle, our Union is finally on the mend and there is solidarity
and stability again.
I will be thankful that CPRail has begun to hire again and that
they have finally decided to put some money back into the track,
not only to improve the security of employment for our members,
but also to make the right of way safer and to protect their employees
and to protect the public at large.
I will be thankful to God and to you for all that I have and all
that I will gain. I will not complain because it is not enough,
I will be thankful that we are given the ability to strive for
more.
Happy Thanksgiving, my friends !!!
In all sincerity..... thank you from the depths of my heart
and of my soul.
Stay safe out there, watch out for your Brother's and Sister's
safety and watch your back. And hug your family tomorrow, and
every day and be grateful that you can.
In solidarity,
Bill Brehl
