From the Brothers of Montreal & Smiths Falls

I would like to let you know how proud I am of all my members in the Atlantic Region, and at the same time give a little encouragement to all our fellow brothers and sisters on every picket line across Canada. We still are having good turn outs on the picket lines and are putting a dent in the intermodel yard at Lachine as we were told a number of times that the panic button was pushed. As for the crossings we have had a good outcome with holding trains well up to 37 minutes before being removed. The passenger trains have been late a number of times for up to 30 minutes and everybody knows once you have one late passenger train you have many .The picket line at St-Luc Yard has been strong since the strike and the members are keeping an eye on who goes in and out. The B&B members have been giving pamphlets out to inform the public of the the strike and that we are not doing the maintenance that's it's the supervisors and the employees from the offices that's right the people behind the desks. I have been to Smiths Falls picket lines as well and the guys are getting good support from some of the running trade members and the community

I would like to thank all the Strike Captains across Canada for there leadership and countless hours they take to have as many members on the front lines at all times With out you we as Directors would have not been able to keep our picket lines as strong.

Vice President Serge Delongchamp for his part in dealing with the press in both languages French and English and having the Teamsters truck set up at Lachine Yard at the right spot to cause more headaches for the Montreal and CP Police on directing traffic as well as dealing with the truckers

President Bill Brehl the driving force behind us all for keeping everybody together and informed on all the events that have been happening across Canada concerning the strike lines.

I have to say that as Teamsters we are not a lone I have seen many other brothers and sisters from other locals and including President Robert Bouvier and Assistant to the President Francois Laporte of Teamsters Canada on our picket lines.

Here are some photos from our picket lines

SO BROTHERS AND SISTERS BE SAFE AND BE STRONG WE WILL SEE THEM FOLD

Anthony Della Porta
Director Atlantic Region
