VANCOUVER/CKNW
- Canadian Pacific Railway is being taken to court after it arrested
six of its employees on the picket line.
The
union representing the men says the arrest was violent and illegal.
The
Teamsters Canada union is going after CP Rail for what they say
was an illegal arrest.
And
according to division President Bill Brehl they've already had
one success in the courtroom.
"We're
got a number of legal battles on ours hands against them over
this but the first step was to get the conditions listed from
the release form. One of those conditions was that they had to
stay three hundred metres from CP Rail. We did get that before
a judge today who immediately quashed that condition."
The
union says in spite of the recent issues, they'd like to get back
to the bargaining table with CP Rail.
